January 8, 2012 - Rte 50 MVA

January 8, 2012 - At approximately 1:00 PM Talbot Center dispatched Station 60 (Easton), Paramedic 90 and Paramedic 96 for a 10-50 PI, reported serious with entrapment, on Route 50 in the area of the Community Center.

Chief 61 (S. Jones) arrived on location to find two vehicles involved with one overturned and established command. After further investigation, Command advised all units that there was no entrapment however there were several patients. A total of four patients were transported to the Memorial Hospital at Easton with minor injuries.

The cause of the accident is being investigated by the Maryland State Police.

Units on scene: Chief 60, Chief 61, Rescue 61, Engine 68, Paramedic 60, Paramedic 90, Paramedic 96 and MSP.

December 27, 2011 - Aircraft In Distress

At approximately 3:50 PM Talbot Center dispatched Station 60 (Easton) and Paramedic 90 for an aircraft in distress in route to the Easton Airport.

Minutes later, all responding units were advised the pilot had called and stated he had gone down in a field approximately 4 miles NW of the Airport, but was not exactly sure of his location. Due to weather conditions, Trooper 6 advised Talbot Center they would be able to assist with locating the aircraft, however would not be able to transport any patients across the Bay. Trooper 6 located the plane in a field on the back of the 400 Farm just off of Bruff’s Island Road. The Trooper set down in the field next to the plane and advised that all occupants were out of the aircraft and uninjured.

Officer 601 (J. McNeal) had command.

December 9, 2011 Box 6-1

December 9, 2011 - Talbot Center dispatched Station 60 (Easton), Station 20 (Oxford) and Paramedic 96 for a working house fire at 303 Oak Avenue.

Easton Police Department Officers, Cpl. Eric Kellner, Pfc. Steven Tindle and Pfc. Michelle Schuerholz were the first to arrive on location and reported heavy fire coming from the attic area of the home. The officers entered the house before the fire department's arrival and found two adults and an infant asleep inside the house. The officers were able to safely evacuate those subjects. Chief 60 (J. McNeal) arrived on location and established command.

Crews initially started with an interior attack; however the structure was evacuated due to the roof getting ready to collapse. The remainder of the blaze was battled from the exterior. Crews remained on the scene for several hours for extensive overhaul. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the State Fire Marshall’s Office.

Units on scene: Chief 60, Tower 61, Engine 67, Engine 68, Rescue 61, Truck 23, Engine 28, Engine 48, Paramedic 96 and Easton Police Dept.
